How Old Is The Imperial Debonair Camera

Hello,

I rather obscure camera maker from the past was the Herbert George Visitor from Chicago. Information technology was founded in 1945 past Herbert Weil and George State of israel but there is non much detailed information out at that place. In 1961 the company was renamed Royal Photographic camera Corp. It seems information technology disappeared in the tardily threescore's. Not sure if it fabricated information technology into the 70'due south. They produced quite a few models of simple cameras. My understanding is that all (or at least well-nigh) were bakelite plastic. I've found they made cameras for 620, 127 and 126 flick formats. From what I have gathered, they were all very elementary single action with no controls other than a shutter button. But they offered very colorful models and some special editions like the Official Cub Scouts camera which was a rebadged Imperial Debonair (Stay tuned equally I found one of those Cub Scouts photographic camera a while agone). It seems to me they were aimed at children or immature customers.

One of their cameras was called the Imperial Marker XII Flash. Quite a fancy proper noun for such a simple photographic camera if you lot ask me. It was offered in many colors. It seems information technology was built between the mid 50'south and the mid lx's. The very little data I've plant advise 1956 to 1965 but I take no confirmation or testify to back it upwards still. Still searching.
Anyways, this camera used 620 film and made 12 square exposures 2 i/iv x 2 1/four inches or 6x6 cm. Of form the proper name implies an accompaniment flash that connected to the side.

By the way, if anybody has information on this visitor's dates of operation and production numbers/dates, please let me know.

My specimen:

So..... My new year resolution for 2022 was "no more than cameras" but it lasted only like 3 days
While visiting family unit in the south westward corner of the island I found an old thrift store. The residual, every bit they say, is history. After a expert chat with the squeamish owner nigh lighthouses (she said her great k father was a lighthouse keeper in Cabo Rojo), trains, history, etc. I got for almost $5 the only "photographic camera" in the store. She asked me to send her pictures of the restoration and to keep in impact.

Why even carp? This is a very cheap and mediocre camera anyways, near disposable and dead rusted. Shutter doesn't work.
Well, you know me past now.

Because this camera says Majestic Camera Chicago rather than Herbert George Co. Chicago, I can say with some confidence it was built no earlier than 1961. I don't see whatsoever serial number or date codes.

This may exist a fun exercise in clean up just for fun. Not a very serious project.

Thanks,
Ismael
